What is it?
Framagroupes allows you to create an email group: any person subscribed to your group can receive the emails sent to the group and can in turn participate. It is down to you to choose whether your group is semi-private or private.
Features:
Create an account on the Framagroupes site to make, configure and manage your email group, or simply to find groups which interest you and manage your subscriptions.
Limitations
Framagroupes has some limitations:
- Groups may not exceed 500 subscribers.
- Mass addition of subscribers is forbidden.
- Groups must be configured:
- either restricted to group members only (private mode 🛖)
- or to be open to the public on condition that messages are filtered by a moderation team (semi-private mode 🏟️)
- public groups are forbidden and will be deleted without notice 🔥
- There is no archive or shared document space on Framagroups.
- We do not offer group migration.
- Lists not used for one year will be automatically closed.
- A subscription reminder email (with unsubscribe link) will be sent to subscribers⋅es every year.
- The automatic redirection of a personal email to a Framagroups list is prohibited.
- Framasoft reserves the right to deactivate subscribers when their email address is declared as non-existent by their email provider (the email address is kept but emails are no longer sent).
This service is offered subject to acceptance of our terms and conditions and may be moderated according to our moderation policy.

Framagroupes is based a Free-libre software¹. Its code is transparent, publicly auditable and there are no hidden features.
It is built by the community, and everyone is free to fork it and lead the project in new directions.

Framagroupes is an installation of the free software Sympa on the Framasoft servers. Its free license allows you to study its code, contribute to it and install it on your own server.

Who is behind Framagroupes?
Framagroupes is proposed by a French not-for-profit association: Framasoft
Created in 2004, the association is now dedicated to popular education on the challenges of the digital age and the cultural commons. Our small structure (38 including 10) is known the De-google-ify Internet project (16 ethical and alternative online tools) and for the development of PeerTube, Mobilizon, etc. Recognized as being of general interest Framasoft is funded at 93% by your donations, which are tax deductible for French taxpayers.
